Effects of Sweat on Hair
Everyone in this world wants to achieve a healthy body and for this they follow a healthy lifestyle, balanced diet and a regular exercise routine. Exercise and other physical activities like gardening, housekeeping etc are good for our health but these activities are also known to produce more sweat. This sweat makes a layer of salt on your scalp and hair, resulting in dryness, clogged scalp pores, hair breakage and even hair loss. To prevent this problem, you need to make a good scalp and hair care routine that incorporates basic steps like cleaning and moisturizing. This routine will help you maintain healthy and shiny looking hair. Here are some tips that can help you prevent and get rid of sweat from your hair and scalp.
Post Workout Hair Care Tips
Tie your hair in a high ponytail or in a high bun. This step will keep your hair away from your facial skin. Use a cotton scarf to prevent sweat near your hairline. Also, try to keep napkin or a towel handy while working out and use them regularly to clean your skin.
Necessity of shampooing depends upon the type of exercise you are performing i.e. use mild shampoo after every intense workout session and avoid shampooing after doing such exercises which tends to sweat less like yoga. Aside from this, make sure to wash your hair once or twice every week. A good quality clarifying shampoo can also help you a lot. Go for product which has a balanced pH. To use it, apply a small amount of clarifying shampoo on your scalp and gently massage it on your head for one minute and then wash your hair with lukewarm water. After this step, use a leave-in-conditioner or hair serum if you have very curly and dry hair.
Try to give your head a good hot oil treatment on a weekly basis. Just take some warm olive oil or almond oil, or coconut oil and massage it on your scalp. Leave this treatment on your head for half an hour and then rinsing it off using mild herbal shampoo.
Use of natural hair mask once every week is also a good idea. You can use mayonnaise, banana, avocado or egg hair mask to have well moisturized and healthy looking locks. Also, keep your body hydration level in control by drinking plenty of water and other good fluids daily. Use the above mentioned tips to prevent damaging effects of sweat on your hair.
