Sprinkle some powder near your plants to keep them away. Ants do not like the smell of powder and hence they will not come close to your plant.
Use Cornmeal or Black Pepper
Sprinkle some cornmeal or black pepper around your plants. These ingredients will not harm your plants.
Vinegar can also help you. Pour equal quantity of vinegar and water in a spray bottle and spray the resultant solution around the perimeter. Acidity of vinegar will keep those tine creatures away.
Boric acid and Sugar Solution
Another useful remedy is a mixture of sugar, water and boric acid. Mix one teaspoon of boric acid and six tablespoons of sugar in two cups of water. Now take some cotton balls and dip them into this solution. Keep these balls close to your plants.
Add some coffee grounds to the garden. These grounds will give nutrition to your plants and caffeine present in these grounds will repel the ants.
Grind some peels of citrus fruits and add them to the soil. You can also use a mixture of coffee and peels to get maximum benefits.
Ant Control Spray
To make this spray, put one tbsp. each of dish soap and vegetable oil, half tsp. of eucalyptus oil in a gallon of water. Pour this solution in a spray bottle and spray it in your garden or pots.
