Winter season is well known for its harsh and low humid conditions. This season can alter your skin moisture levels and make it dull and dry. Many people use moisturizing creams to treat their skin but they end up with an oily and greasy looking skin. People with this skin type also find it difficult to deal with this greasiness. So, if you are also facing the same problem then first of all, try to go for an oil free moisturizer. Secondly, make a good skin care routine for winter season and lastly include some home remedies in this routine to solve out your issue. Given below are some remedies to avoid oily skin during this cold season.
Natural Ways to Prevent Oily Skin in winter
Use Milk for Cleansing
Take some milk and massage it on your face for a few minutes. Keep it on for some time and then use a gentle face wash and water to remove it. This milk massage will give you a clear face and also make your skin well moisturized.
Stay Away From Hot Water
This step is one of the most essential steps that you should follow during cold season. Hot water is responsible for problems like open pores and excessive oily skin. So, if you want to get rid of your problem without doing anything special then try to use cold to lukewarm water on your skin.
Tomato Juice
Use of tomato juice is another valuable home remedy as it helps remove excessive oil and various other issues like acne, sunburned skin, enlarged pores etc. For too much oiliness, simply mix some drops of lemon juice in it and massage the resultant liquid on your face for 2 to 4 minutes. Finally, wash your face with cold water and have an oil free skin instantly. Do not forget to apply a good moisturizer based sunscreen after using this remedy.
Take Help of Skin Exfoliation
Try to exfoliate your skin twice every week to keep your skin in its healthy state. When dealing with greasy skin, you can either use a mixture of oatmeal scrub or go for baking soda and water paste. This step will help you to get rid of blackheads, whiteheads, dead epidermal skin cells and other problems which are related to greasy skin. If you want to stay on the safe side then use a mild exfoliator which you can easily make by mixing equal quantity of lemon juice and yogurt. This mask will gently exfoliate your skin; thereby it helps remove oils, impurities and dead epidermal cells.
Gram Flour and Milk Paste
Make a paste of some gram flour, a pinch of turmeric, some drops of olive oil and little milk. Apply it on your skin and allow it to sit on for about 15 minutes. Lastly, remove it with lukewarm water. This is a good moisturizing, nourishing and skin bleaching face mask. Some people also use it to get rid of unwanted facial hair and if you also want the same then use it regularly.
Multani Mitti (Fuller’s Earth Clay) and Yogurt Combo
Use of multani mitti in beauty treatments is very common in Asian countries. It has great skin beautifying properties that can help you in getting rid of acne, scars, oily skin, dull complexion and so forth. You can use it in the form of a pack and all you need to do is to mix some fullers earth powder, plain yogurt and a few drop of lemon juice. Apply it on cleansed face and rinse off after 15 minutes.
